BRIGHT RAIN MAKES IDEAS WORK

Bright Rain Solutions specializes in building custom applications and integrations that deliver efficient and impactful results. With a strong track record across government, NGOs, and small businesses, we bring deep technical expertise and a straightforward approach that prioritizes outcomes. No endless discussions, just solutions that work.

APPROACH

We are platform agnostic and believe the right solution is the most important project goal, not dogma. We have extensive experience with both proprietary and open source solutions and have been bold enough to combine them. No zealots here. We take our work seriously but aren’t afraid to have fun. We stay current on the latest technologies even when it hurts. We evaluate the latest technology so we can best meet the needs of our clients by understanding the tools, patterns and best practices available.

We are sociologists and geographers who became developers, we see our work as supporting a greater good. The majority of our clients are government, educational, and NGO who are pursuing a mission driven by factors other than the bottom line. We are prudent with our client’s resources of both time and money.

PARTNERSHIP

We understand that each project means entering into a partnership with a client and that establishing trust, respecting each other, and setting expectations are critical from the start. No matter how tightly a project is scoped, a level of trust must be maintained, and we take this very seriously. Bright Rain has established many long-term clients on a solid foundation of partnership and trust. We would not work in any other environment.

Monitoring and Evaluation System

Episcopal Relief & Development

Bright Rain is partnered with Episcopal Relief & Development in New York City to develop, enhance, manage and support their Monitoring + Evaluation System. Map Our Borders

Bright Rain Solutions has developed a Public Participatory Geographic Information System (PPGIS) tool that allows for fine grain reporting of information, and visual communication of patterns and relationships. It uses a hexagonal based grid system to allow community members to define ‘Places’ by using these hexagons as building blocks. This application posed unique challenges to web mapping in that the geospatial data that defines these places is generated dynamically (as opposed to being stored in the database) by the H3 Hexagonal Hierarchical Spatial Index.
